Making wildfire preparedness simple, practical, and actionable.
Matt Gage is the Co-Founder and Sales Lead at MitigateNow, where he works with homeowners, contractors, and industry partners to make disaster preparedness more approachable and effective. Known for his hands-on mindset and commitment to doing things right, Matt helps clients strengthen their property's resilience against disasters of all sizes.
Matt’s career has always revolved around solving problems and paying attention to the details others might miss.
Before entering the wildfire mitigation industry, he spent years working in woodworking, CNC machining, and high-end guitar manufacturing. These experiences taught him the value of craftsmanship and precision. They also gave him extensive experience managing production, coordinating with vendors, and working directly with customers to deliver quality results.
Today, as Co-Founder and Sales Lead at MitigateNow, Matt brings this same mindset to helping homeowners and contractors improve wildfire preparedness. He believes every property is different, every challenge has a solution, and preparation starts with understanding what’s most important to the people you’re helping.
Matt began his professional career in woodworking and CNC machining. This foundation eventually led him into a leadership role with a high-end guitar manufacturer, where he managed production operations, vendor relationships, and customer experience while maintaining rigorous quality standards.
His introduction to wildfire mitigation came through his work as a Construction Manager at Ember Defense. In this role, he worked directly with homeowners, contractors, and project teams to develop customized wildfire resilience solutions. He quickly became known for his product knowledge, operational leadership, and ability to help clients navigate complex mitigation projects confidently.
When Ember Defense shifted its focus toward emergency response, Matt and several members of the team saw an opportunity to continue serving homeowners through proactive preparedness. This vision led to the creation of MitigateNow.
Today, Matt leads sales strategy, contractor partnerships, and homeowner support efforts across the company. He spends much of his time helping clients understand their options, connecting them with trusted resources, and making the mitigation process more approachable and accessible.
Outside of work, Matt enjoys hunting, riding, spending time outdoors, and being involved in his local community. He shares life and business with his wife, Brooke, and is grateful for the relationships and experiences that have shaped both his career and personal journey.
One quote has guided him throughout his career:
“Luck is a dividend of sweat. The more you sweat, the luckier you get.”
